1. Security Commitment
At ChairMora, the security of client appointment records, salon schedules, and studio revenue information is fundamental. We design our platform following the principle of least privilege and defense-in-depth across our application code, database layers, and cloud infrastructure.
Whether you are a solo barber with one chair or a multi-location franchise managing 30 stylists, your data is protected by the same enterprise security tier.
2. Data Encryption (Transit & Rest)
All web traffic between your browser and ChairMora is encrypted using modern TLS 1.3 protocols with perfect forward secrecy. HTTP connections are automatically upgraded to HTTPS.
All salon databases, customer reservations, and historical logs are encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 cipher blocks with cryptographically rotated master keys.
3. Payment & PCI-DSS Safety
Zero Stored Card Data on ChairMora Servers
When studio owners subscribe to Studio Pro or Enterprise Fleet, all payment card information is tokenized and transmitted directly to Stripe, certified as a PCI-DSS Level 1 Service Provider (the highest certification tier available in the global payments industry).
ChairMora never touches, sees, stores, or logs raw credit or debit card numbers on our infrastructure.
Pickup product and gift payments go directly to the studio's chosen processor through its HTTPS payment link. ChairMora does not collect processor credentials or card data. An order remains pending until the owner confirms its receipt. Gift claim links and codes should be kept private: the first signed-in claimant can add an unclaimed gift to their profile. The owner or delegated workspace Admin records redemptions; partial use cannot spend beyond the remaining balance.
4. Studio Data Isolation & Role Permissions
Every barbershop and salon operates within an isolated tenant partition. A studio owner cannot view, modify, or export the client history or revenue metrics of another studio.
- Short-Lived Signed Sessions: Owner dashboards are protected by signed, expiring session tokens issued by our authentication provider and refreshed in the background. Every request is authorised on the server against the account the token names — the browser is never trusted to assert which studio it belongs to.
- Stylist Role Isolation: Individual stylist accounts only access chairs and appointments assigned to them.
- Audit Trail: Appointment status changes (In-Chair, Completed, Cancelled) are timestamped with owner IDs.
5. Cloud Reliability, Backups & Disaster Recovery
Automated Real-Time Backups
Our database architecture performs continuous point-in-time recovery and automated daily encrypted snapshot replications across geographically separated regions.
High-Availability Cloud Cluster
Application edge nodes are deployed with auto-healing load balancers designed for 99.9% uptime, ensuring clients can book chairs around the clock.
6. Account Sign-In & Two-Factor Authentication
ChairMora does not ask you to invent another password. Accounts are opened and entered with Google, Microsoft, or a one-time code sent to your email address, so there is no password of ours for an attacker to steal, reuse, or phish.
- Authenticator App 2FA: Any account can require a six-digit code from an authenticator app at sign-in, with one-time recovery codes for a lost phone.
- One Email, One Account Type: An address belongs to a client account or a studio account, never both, so a studio dashboard can never be reached through a client sign-in.
- Server-Side Authorisation: Every studio action is re-checked on the server against the signed-in account. Nothing is granted on the strength of what the browser claims.
- Administrative Access: Platform administration is limited to a deployment allowlist that is re-checked on every request, so removing an address revokes access immediately rather than at the next sign-in.
7. Studio Verification & Directory Integrity
A directory anyone can sign up to is a directory anyone can fill with businesses that do not exist. ChairMora's defence is a cost that is trivial for a real shop and prohibitive at scale — and it runs without a human approving anyone, so a genuine owner is never left waiting.
Control of the Published Number
A new studio's dashboard works at once, but its page stays out of search, out of search-engine indexes, and closed to online bookings until a one-time code texted to its published phone number is entered. The number that is verified is the number clients see.
Duplicate and Dormancy Checks
Verification is refused where another listed studio already holds that phone number or that street address. Free listings are warned after 60 days without bookings, sign-ins or profile updates and hidden if there is no activity during the next 30 days. Signing in restores eligibility on the next nightly check, subject to verification. Paid profiles are never hidden or ranked lower for inactivity; after 90 quiet days, owners receive an in-app and email reminder to review their shop.
Reviews Only From Real Clients
A review can only be written by a signed-in client account, for an appointment that account actually held at that studio, already in the past and not cancelled — one review per appointment. There is no path in the product for an anonymous review, a review from someone who never visited, or a studio reviewing itself.
8. Anti-Bot, Spam & Abuse Mitigation
To prevent unauthorized booking spam and automated inventory locking of open salon chairs, ChairMora enforces:
- Rate Limiting: Appointment submissions, help-chat questions, booking lookups and verification codes each carry their own per-browser and per-account ceilings over a rolling window.
- Confirmation Codes Cannot Be Guessed: Managing a booking from the help chat needs the confirmation code and the email address or mobile number on that booking. Attempts are capped per browser per hour, and a wrong pair returns one identical message whatever was wrong — so the chat cannot be used to discover which codes exist.
- Verified Studio Screening: A listing is not searchable or bookable until the studio proves control of the phone number it publishes. See section 7.
- Managed Edge Infrastructure: The application runs on managed cloud platforms whose own network layers absorb volumetric traffic before it reaches the application.

10. Frequently Asked Security Questions
Do clients have to save credit cards to book?
No. Clients on ChairMora can discover salons and reserve an open chair without submitting credit card numbers on the website. Service payments are handled directly by the studio. Optional product and gift orders use the owner's external payment link; no shop payment card data is entered on ChairMora, and the owner confirms each receipt.
How are studio subscription charges billed?
Studio owners subscribe via Stripe checkout sessions. Your payment card information is tokenized directly on Stripe's PCI-compliant vaults.
Someone has my confirmation code. What can they do?
On its own, nothing. Looking up a booking requires the code and the email address or mobile number it was booked with, and attempts are capped per browser per hour. A lookup shows the studio, service, stylist, time and your own note — deliberately not the full contact details on the booking. Treat the code like a ticket all the same: someone holding both it and the matching contact detail can move or cancel that appointment.
Can the help chat see my account or my bookings?
No. The AI behind the chat receives only the words you type and a fixed description of how ChairMora works — never your account, your bookings or your contact details. Looking a booking up, moving it or cancelling it is handled by our own servers as a guided step, not by the AI, and the chat will not answer questions about individuals or about how the platform is built.
What can the studio Live Guide see?
The Live Guide is a voice assistant for studio owners. It only listens while the owner has a session open, and ChairMora does not record the audio. On Studio AI Suite and Enterprise it can look up that studio's own bookings, earnings, reviews and messages — including client names — but never client email addresses or phone numbers, and never another studio's records. Every lookup re-checks the owner's sign-in and plan on our servers.
What happens if a studio cancels their account?
Upon account cancellation or deletion request, all studio profile records and client booking queues are securely sanitized from our active production database.
